Land Owners

Community and Utility based wind energy projects often lease land from private land owners. Turbines are installed by the developer and an annual lease payment is paid to the land owner. In almost all cases, the land owner can continue to use the land in exactly the same manner, whether it is a agriculture, forestry or industrial use. Scotian WindFields is currently looking for new project locations, so if you have land that you might be interested in leasing, please fill out the form below.

Aspects of a good wind energy location are: good wind resource, high elevation and/or close proximity to water, access to three phase power lines, road access on site, and a cleared location for a wind turbine and testing.
